Life is a constant reinvention for this artist and designer! My artwork has been shown in a number of Seattle area Galleries and juried into numerous shows throughout my painting career.
I create my art using many different mediums, including acrylics, oils, pastels and collage. I like to paint, splatter, sand, experiment and problem solve with my art. Each series or idea in my artistic and design repertoire demands its own combinations of color and mark making.
Translating visual delights and abstract ideas into multimedia formats, I use a graphic/pictorial forum to communicate my thoughts and feelings into symbols and structures that resound with the viewer. The natural world delights me, and I continually enjoy seeing the links between the natural and designed world, and often insert a taste of whimsy to punctuate my work and forge a connection with the viewer. Topics inform my choice of media, starting with an idea or feeling moving onto composition, color, material and texture. I primarily paint in oils and acrylics often using inks, pastels and paper. I often research a topic and then use the physical act of creation to define my ideas using artistic problem solving, visual journalism, fantasy, symbolism and the human condition. When people view my work, I would like them to see my intention to connect individuals to the whole of humanity and physically represent common relationships, and precious nature of the world.
